Getting a grip on architecture:
It’s in your hands.
Products by FSB are to be found wherever architecture meets “handle culture” - in short, at the cusp between people and architecture. They variously include our classic heavy-duty hardware for doors and windows plus mortice locks in matching styles and materials and our (grippingly) convenience-focused ErgoSystem®, a universal barrier-free concept that has established itself in the marketplace amongst all age groups.
A capacity for technological innovation, for reflecting critically upon what we do, and also for delivering at the cultural level is part and parcel of the way we see ourselves. Thus it comes as no great surprise that products and all-in solutions “Made in Germany” are to be encountered in buildings by noted architects the world over and, indeed, wherever the emphasis is on style.
Product family FSB 1242 by John Pawson
British architect John Pawson deftly varies the design vocabulary of a well-known modernist handle – the “Reich Form” handle by Hans Poelzig – and breathes new life into it with his design in classy bronze. Pawson has re-interpreted the formal notion of a snugly nestling oval handle cross-section, an idea that has been repeatedly modified for almost a hundred years now, with the aid of a well-proportioned dimensioning system.
FSB Aluminium revitalised: Shot-blasted, anodized, ennobled
FSB is revitalising “its” aluminium material with the aid of anodised colors based on refined matt-velvet aluminium finishes whose inimitable sheen and pleasant haptic quality lend them an allure of a kind never before seen. A conscious attempt to relate to the actual metal is made. This is regardless of whether the host surface is highlighted by means of a metallic colour/finish or as part of a scheme of
coordinated shades. The new finish comes in 5 compellingly attractive colour variants.
Product family FSB 1257 I 1259 by Hartmut Weise
Hartmut Weise asks himself: What works with and thanks to FSB ASL®?!
He says: “Significant design ideas are sometimes literally in the air. Such
ideas are unique and are not randomly replicable.” Consistent in both allure
and style: the new FSB “C-Line” (FSB 1259) and “V-Line” (FSB 1257) door
